Cooper Penner

Cooper Penner is a current MD-PHD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania where his primary focus is studying the pathogenesis of ALS using stem cell derived motor neurons. Additionally, he works every week in Penn’s ALS clinic where he helps educate families about caregiving techniques.

Cooper spent years acting as the primary caregiver for his mother while she suffered from the disease and himself carries a pathological expansion in the c9orf72 repeat sequence.
