Lisa H. Gold

Dr. Gold received her bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and a doctorate in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. She conducted her postdoctoral research in behavioral pharmacology at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Gold then became a member of the faculty of the Scripps Research Institute where she directed laboratories focused on behavioral pharmacology and translational neuroscience. Dr. Gold has spent the remainder of her career in the pharmaceutical industry. She started as a research scientist at Hoffmann- La Roche and Schering Plough and then advanced to leadership roles in Neuroscience discovery organizations at Pharmacia, Pfizer and Merck. Dr. Gold retired from Merck in 2018. Her most recent role was Executive Director Scientific Affairs within Clinical Research where she led the development and execution of the Scientific Leadership Strategy for Neurosciences area as well as heading the Neuroscience Investigator Initiated Studies Grants Programs. Currently, Dr. Gold serves on the External Review Board for the Kentucky Network for Innovation and Commercialization and is a member of an advisory workgroup to the Division of Therapeutics and Medical Consequences for the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
